Paralympic Closing Ceremony initial review

Coldplay brought London 2012 to an end with a stunning set at the Paralympic Closing Ceremony. The band played a hefty 16 songs, and were joined on stage by Rihanna and later Jay-Z during the evening.

The ceremony, directed by Kim Gavin and titled 'Festival of the Flame', used the four seasons as a theme, but it was the music of Coldplay which took centre stage throughout.

The setlist (see below) included the expected hits but also gave room for a comeback performance of '42', last played on the Viva La Vida Tour, and also a version of 'Paradise' featuring vocals from Jay-Z. Rihanna joined Coldplay for 'Princess of China', 'We Found Love' and 'Run This Town'.

Check back to Coldplayism tomorrow where we will have further coverage of the ceremony, including images, videos, media reports and a deeper insight into the concept behind 'Festival of the Flame'.
